Alton (Pete) James Grimm, age 85 of Canton, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Heritage Hospice in Marietta after a long bout with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Grimm and children Michael Grimm, Mark (Debra) Grimm,
Karen (Ed) Ftacek and Sharon (Eric) Overman, from Canton, GA, sisters Ramona (Jerry, deceased) Kellogg of Birmingham, AL, Carol (Don) Blatner of Tonawanda, NY, 6 grandchildren;
4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Grimm, a sister, BeAnn Rizzo, a sister, Pat Coe, a sister, Mary Beger and grandchildren, Steven Grimm and Kaleena Thatcher.
Pete was born in Buffalo, NY. After graduating high school he served in the Army during the Korean War. Upon his return to the states, he moved to California in 1955, married his wife Marge in 1956 and raised 4 children. He began his career at Lockheed in Burbank, CA, in an entry level position and worked his way up the ladder to upper level management. He retired after 32 years and was highly respected by all for his management abilities. He moved to Canton, GA in 2008 where he lived out the rest of his life with his family. Pete enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, cars, fishing and the ocean.
A graveside service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, June 4th at 2:00 p.m. with military honors.
