Obituary

Angus Roderick "Rod" McNeil, 74, passed on Saturday, February 12th, 2022 at his residence in Acworth, Georgia.
Rod was a United States Army Veteran and served in Vietnam as part of the 3rd Regiment of the 1st Calvary Division. In his years of service, he was awarded numerous medals and accolades.
He was a longtime member of the Hamburg Kingsmen Drum & Bugle Corps, and later a member of the Hamburg "K" Marching & Percussion Ensemble. In his retired years, you could find him at the closest drum circle.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved to travel to see his friends and family and spend as much time as possible with his grandchildren. He never met a stranger, had many stories to share, and was a great friend to all.
He was the best.
Rod is survived by Son, Jeff (Julie) McNeil, Daughter Corri Green, Grandchildren, Colin McNeil, Savannah McNeil, Alexis Green, Christopher Green, Phoebe McNeil, and Jude McNeil. Sisters, Sharon Measer and Carol Cook, and Brother, William McNeil, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Angus Stanley and Frances McNeil, and Sister Janice Mazikowski.
Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 23rd at Darby Funeral Home from 2-4 PM.
Graveside Service will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday, February 24th at 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America at VVA,org.
