Arfellow Gates, age 78 of Canton, passed away on August 12, 2016. Visitation services will be on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 2-8 PM; Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 3-6 PM; and Monday, August 15, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Darby Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church of Canton. Reverend Robert D. Holmes and Reverend Tyrone Gates will officiate the service. Interment will take place in the Hanley Cemetery located in LaFayette, Alabama. Mr. Gates is survived by son Tyrone & Fran Gates of Canton, GA; son Darron & Sandra Gates of Canton, GA & Maurice & Kandice of Oxford, GA; daughter Sharon Gearing of Canton, GA; brother Franklin Gates of Atlanta, GA; brother Darrell & Susan Gates of Payson, IL; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Also in lieu of flowers, the family requests that you bring a sports item that can be donated to underprivileged children (bats, balls, gloves, etc).
