Billy Joe Groover age 84 of Ball Ground, GA passed away at home surrounded by his family Wednesday evening March 27, 2019.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 12:00PM Saturday March 30, 2019 from the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Interment to follow in the Cherokee Memorial Park. Reverend Nathan Brandon will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00PM - 8:00PM Friday March 29, 2019.
Mr. Groover was inducted into the Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 and a member of the Brewton Parker College Basketball Hall of Fame.
Mr. Groover is survived by his wife of 61 years; Jo Ann Groover, Ball Ground, GA, daughter; Debbie (Doug) Buckner, Ball Ground, GA, sons; Joey (Tracie) Groover, Silver Creek, GA, Robert (Nancy) Groover, Severville, TN, 7 grandchildren; Elizabeth Williams, B.J. Groover, Bryan Buckner, Christopher Groover, Katie Buckner, Will Groover, Zachary Hall, 5 great grandchildren; Penelope Groover, Ava Groover, Chloe Groover, Bryson Thomas Williams, Henley Ryan Williams.
