On the 18th day of December 2018, Candice Ann Frost passed away peacefully at home in Canton, Georgia, surrounded by her adoring family. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 5th, 1949 to parents Robert and Betty Klau, growing up there along with older brother Bobby who resides in Austin, Texas.
Candy graduated from Valparaiso University where she met her future husband, Tom. Following graduation, they were married on May 18th, 1974 in Milwaukee. They initially resided in Chicago, Illinois before moving to Dallas, Texas in 1977 where Candy taught school and Tom was an accountant. They raised three fine boys in Texas, Brian, Jason, and Sean (born in 1976, 1978, and 1982, respectively). Candy and Tom subsequently moved to Georgia where they continued their professions, and the boys attended college (Georgia, Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern). Each of the boys married thereafter (Brian to Maisie, Jason to Becky, and Sean to Claire) and then the blessings of five grandchildren completed their special family (Dylan, Kate, Penelope, Cole and Millie Frost).
Candy retired from teaching in Cherokee County in 2014 and happily devoted her love and talents to her family and community. Affectionately known as "GC" by her grandchildren, Candy was active in the Wine and Words Book Club, Bunco and the Bridgemill Sixes Service League. She loved boating at Lake Lanier and relaxing on the white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast, but most importantly, she cherished time with her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 1:00 pm on January 11th, 2019 at the Darby Funeral Home, 480 East Main Street, Canton, Georgia. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, that any memorials be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation (
