Cary Jerome Strickland, age 56 of Canton, passed away on June 15, 2017 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee. Visitation service will take place on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Darby Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Reverend Joe Dover will officiate the service. Survivors include son Quincy Preston of Canton; Life-long partner Mary Preston of Canton; brother James Walter Strickland Jr. of Atlanta; brother Donze Ellis Bates of Canton; sister Arlene Frances Bates of Canton; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister Marylin Bates, sister Joan Bates, and brother Dwight Bates. For those who wish, donations may be made to help with funeral expenses.
