Obituary

Clement J. Henion, of Canton, GA, born January 4, 1930, passed away peacefully after a long illness on February 28, 2011 with family by his side.  He was the son of Clement Henion and Julia Goursky Henion of West Orange, NJ.  Mr. Henion was a graduate of West Orange High School, West Orange, NJ class of 1948.  He served in the US Army from August, 1951 through July, 1953.  In 1961, Mr. Henion designed the original and still unique one-piece helical cutterhead and subsequently refined the dicer used to this day in the plastic industry worldwide.  Mr. Henion continued to be a consultant for Henion Dicing Products Inc. in Kennesaw, GA, until his death.  His hobbies included knitting, puzzles, golf, traveling, and his grandchildren.  Mr. Henion was a member of the Livingston Masonic Lodge # 11, Livingston, NJ

Mr. Henion is survived by his wife Sharon Von Ignatius Henion, his son Reid C. Henion and his wife Yelena Henion of Roanoke, VA, his daughter Virginia Hartigan and her husband Patrick Hartigan of Canton, GA, his daughter Joanna Husson of Roswell, GA.  He is further survived by his grandchildren, Allison, Aaron, and Alexandra Henion of Roanoke, VA and Katherine, Matthew, Claire, and Jack Hartigan of Canton, GA.  He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Anderson and husband Paul Anderson of Marietta, GA, his nieces Kristi Anderson Summers. Karen Anderson, Jaime Henion, and his nephews Brian and Kevin Henion.    He is predeceased by his brother Bruce E. Henion of Hendersonville, NC.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 3pm at Liberty Hill Church in Canton, GA.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that  donations be made to Embracing Hospice, 8013 Majors Road, Cumming GA,  30041 in his memory.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.darbyfuneralhome.com .  The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
