David Basham, 75, of Marietta, GA, and formerly of Midland, AR, lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease on April 14, 2018, at the Silverleaf Alzheimer's Care of Snellville.


Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn "Sue" Basham and is survived by his daughters, Shannon (Robert) Shaw, Marietta, GA and Michelle (Michael) Tilson, Albany, GA; stepdaughters Suzette (George) Brennan, Roswell, GA and Fran (Mark) Sisson, Hoover, AL; brothers Eddie (Patti) Basham, Charleston, SC and Don (Nancy) Basham, Booneville, AR; his 10 grandchildren - Erica Sisson, Samantha Sisson, Kelsey King, Kevin Tilson, Haleigh Sisson, Corey Brennan, Lela Tilson, Abigail Shaw, Madison Shaw, Daniel Brennan; and great granddaughter Lela Le'Fay Johnson.


David is a two tour Vietnam War veteran, with medals including four Bronze Stars and two Army Commendation medals. He is also a former Southern Baptist Minister and private detective.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 12:00PM Monday April 23, 2018 at the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with full Military Honors. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the funeral hour. Memorials preferred to ALZ.org.
