Taylor Walker, of Canton, Georgia, was born in Coral Gables, Florida on November 24, 1959 to Edward and Josephine Walker. A true "Florida boy", he grew up scuba diving, hiking and enjoying all that Homestead, Florida had to offer. After graduating from South Dade High School, he attended Florida State University and Georgia Tech. He worked for DLM in Malvern, Arkansas for five years, during which time he obtained two patents for the company. With the death of his father, he moved back to Georgia in 1989, when he took six months off and hiked the Appalachian Trail. Upon coming back to Atlanta, he quickly went to work for Softrol in Acworth, where he has been for the last 28 years.

In 1995, Taylor married Connie and they moved to Canton. Brian, their son was born in 2000, followed by Catherine in 2002. The three of them truly were his life. He immersed himself in their activities: Brian's Boy Scout troop and Biking team and behind the scenes with Catherine's Girl Scout troop and Connie's Children's Choir. Through these organizations, he made many friends who appreciated his willingness to always be there and help all the kids. He loved biking with Brian, the team and on his own. Building his own dream bike was one of his proudest accomplishments, as was hiking for two weeks at Philmont with BSA 465. He also enjoyed listening to Catherine's many musical concerts with the Georgia Youth Symphony and All-State band.

Taylor is survived by Connie, Brian and Catherine and his sister Sarah Granda and her husband Cedric of Blue Ridge. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in his name to 465 Alumni Association at 465Alumni.org and SORBA Woodstock at www.sorbawoodstock.org/donate .
