Mrs. Elizabeth N. Tyre of Canton, formerly of Valdosta, Georgia, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Canton Nursing Center. She was 87.

She was born May 31, 1927 in Naylor, Georgia to the late Charlie S. Norton and the late Laura Lightsey Norton. She was the widow of Earl Loran Tyre and was preceded in death by her brother, Lyman C. Norton and sister, Edith Lee Browning. She was a homemaker, taught school for a short time, loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her Daughter and Son-in-Law Laurie and Scott Cagle and Grandson Tyler Peacock; Son and Daughter-in-Law Norton and Gina Tyre and Grandsons Trent and wife Erin Tyre; Shay and wife Felicia Tyre.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 29 2014 from the Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. A.M. Anderson will officiate.
