Obituary
George William McClure, 74 of Woodstock, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023. Visitation will be Saturday, August 19th from 10-11am at Revolution Church in Canton. The memorial service will follow at 11am at the church with Rev. Charles Davis and Pastor Jason Gerdis officiating.
Mr. Mclure was a current member of the Cherokee Airport Authority where he served for 38 years; Past President of the Georgia Home Builders Association; Past President of the Atlanta Home Builders Association; Member of the Cherokee Shrine Club; Member of Hickory Flat Masonic Lodge # 205; Easter Star; Past President of the Canton Jaycees, and Past President of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by:
Wife - Hilda McClure of Woodstock
Son - Matt McClure of Canton
Son - Steve (Jennifer) McClure of Canton
Son - Sandy Sanford of Decatur, AL.
Brother - Jerry McClure of Alpharetta
Sister - Betty Nash of Ellijay
7 grandchildren also survive.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children in his memory.
The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the McClure family.
