Godfrey Louis Pratt was born in Nassau, Bahamas on January 20, 1933 to Benjamin Louis Pratt and Pearl Louise Pratt. He attended Fiske College where he studied psychology until he fell ill as a young man and had to drop out. He officially moved to the United States in the 70's and married Rose Alfreda Pratt who gave him 2 boys and a girl. She preceded him in death on May 25, 1976 in Manhatten, NY. He then moved to Florida and in 1982 married Norma Jean Pratt who gave him a step-daughter and two sons. He leaves to mourn his wife Norma Jean Pratt; 4 sons, Alfred Howard Pratt, Benjamin Louis Pratt, Godfrey Eric Pratt (TaLonya) and Jeffery Jay Pratt, 2 daughters, Rosetta Suzanne Hall (Trevon) and Tabitha Ann Nelson, 1 brother, Marcell Pratt (Barbara) and 1 sister Thelma Pratt, an army of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and adopted family from all walks of life.
The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4th from 1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home on Saturday, May 5th at 3:00p.m. with Evangelist Seth Mauldin officiating. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pratt family.
