Mr. Hansel Dowdy, age 66 of Canton, GA passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee. Visitation service will begin on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 5-9 PM at Darby Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Reverend Banks Brazell will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery at 12 noon. Survivors include wife Sharon Dowdy of Canton, GA; son Scott Dowdy of Canton, GA; daughter Lisa & Kevin Sullivan of Woodstock, GA; brother David Dowdy Sr. of Ball Ground, GA; brother Rev. John Ridings Sr. of Jasper, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta by visiting www.giving.choa.org .
