Jan Patterson was born January 13, 1950 to Dorothy White Patterson and the late Pierce Patterson. She died Dec. 8, 2014 at the Canton Nursing Center.

Funeral service will be in the Marguerite McFather Chapel at the Canton First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 1 PM.

Darby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2-7 PM at the funeral home.

Jan was a member of Canton First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1968. She received her BS and Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from West Georgia College (now University).

Jan taught school in Cherokee Co. and was also hired by the Department of Defense to teach children of the US Military in Germany.

She loved to travel but due to health restrictions she was not able for the past several years.

She is survived by her mother Dorothy, brother and sister-in-law David and Barbara Jean Patterson of Winston, Ga, also an uncle and several cousins survived.
