Joan Underwood McFather, age 78 of Canton, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 10th from 3-8pm. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 11th at 2pm at Canton First United Methodist Church with Dr. Dan Brown and Dr. Kenny Ott officiating. She is survived by:
Daughter - Kate (Lucas) Rugani of NC.
Daughter - Sarah McFather (Danny Wasserman) of Smyrna
Brother - Paul Underwood of CT.
Grandchildren - Olivia Rugani, Julia Rugani, Joshua Rugani, and Benjamin Wasserman.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Canton First United Methodist Building Fund, or Reinhardt University Performing Arts Scholarship in her honor. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the McFather family.
