In Loving memory of John Walter Beatty, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and talented drummer, who peacefully passed away on June 19, 2024.
John's journey began on February 10, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was born to Jack and Ann Beatty. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and music that touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
John shared 38 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Dawn Beatty, who was his constant companion and source of strength throughout their lives together. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and unwavering support.
As a father, John was a pillar of guidance and love to his children: Melissa, Rachael, Sara, Natalie, and Shawn. His greatest joy came from watching them grow, and he took pride in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent together.
John's love extended to his grandchildren, great-granddaughter, sons-in-law, nieces and nephews and numerous friends who brought him immeasurable happiness and filled his heart with joy.
John's professional journey as a communications engineer was marked by dedication and innovation. His expertise and passion for technology made a significant impact in his field, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, John found solace and passion in his music. As a drummer, he shared his talent with numerous bands and audiences, leaving a lasting impression with his rhythmic flair and infectious enthusiasm for music.
John was not just a practitioner but a revered sensei in the art of Shuri-ryū, holding a prestigious 3rd-degree black belt. His commitment to Shuri-ryū was unparalleled, and he imparted his knowledge and wisdom to numerous students over the years. Through his teachings, John instilled not only martial arts skills but also values of discipline, respect, and perseverance in all who trained under him.
In addition to his immediate family, John was a loving brother to Lisa, Laura, and David. As well as his lifetime friend, Jeff. He held a special place in his heart for his deceased brothers, Bryant, Douglas, and Wayne, whose memories he cherished dearly.
Let us remember his laughter, his kindness, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His legacy of love, music, and family will continue to inspire us.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 4:00pm-8:00pm Deer Run Clubhouse.
