John Thomas Yates, age 76 of Ball Ground, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31st from 12-2pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2pm in the sanctuary of the church with Rev. Doug Mulkey and Mr. Velvon Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Vivian Yates, and his sister, Brenda Fugua. He is survived by:

Son - John (Tasha) Yates of Monticello
Son - Mark (Christy) Yates of Canton
Brother - Jim (Sue) Yates of Guin, AL.
Sister - Ann (Dave) Verville of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Grandchildren - Taylor, Ryan, Jackson, Molly, Matthew, Sean, and Charlie Yates
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Mt. Zion Baptist Church in his memory.
