Julia Nell Stanford
July 25, 1942 – January 23, 2025

Julia Nell Stanford, 82, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on January 23, 2025. Born on July 25, 1942, she was the daughter of George Washington Pace and Nora Mae Jackson Pace.

Julia's life was marked by love, resilience, and the deep bonds she shared with family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, always offering kindness and wisdom to those around her.

She is survived by her son, Ira James Stanford (Ann) of Canton, GA; her beloved grandchildren, Christie Palasiri and Bryan Greene; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Among them, Deborah Schaeffer of Jasper, GA; Keith Buras (Jen) of Ball Ground, GA; Stacey Katcham (Jeremy) of Rydal, GA; and Wayne Buras (Michelle) of Jasper, GA, held a special place in her heart.

Julia is preceded in death by her twin sons, Dennis George Stanford and Darrell Joseph Stanford; her brothers, George Pace, Edward Pace, James Pace, and Robert Pace McCaslin; and her sisters, Margie Ann Stevens, Betty Jean Vandiver, Norma Louise Johnston, and Ruth Ellen Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles "Chip" Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the service hour.

Julia will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the love she shared and the lives she touched.
