Kenneth Raymond Rice, age 78 of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Monday, August 23rd from 1-4pm. The funeral will immediately follow at 4pm in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Deacon Charlie Carigan officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 31st at 9:30am at Georgia National Cemetery.
Ken worked for Verizon Telecommunications as a Switching Equipment Technician/ Troubleshooter and "squirrel Hunter". He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Robert, and George. He is survived by:
Wife - Patricia Rice of Canton
Son - Kenneth "Kenny" (Leslie) Rice of Oceanside, NY.
Daughter - Melinda J. Wood of Canton
Sister - Joan (Richard) Lynch of Montgomery, AL.
Sister - Dorothy (Frank) Trani - Rockville Centre, NY.
Grandchildren - Juliana Wood, Sienna Wood, and Olivia Wood
