Kenneth Lee Saxon, 85 of Canton passed away September 6, 2022 at Northside Hospital Cherokee surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth was born in Hawkinsville, GA, August 18, 1937 to Henry Marshall Saxon and Susie Lee (Field) Saxon. Kenneth enjoyed sports, especially UGA football, bass fishing, working in the yard and spending time at their beach home in Port St. Joe, FL.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12th from 3-6pm at Darby Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be Thursday, October 13th at 12:30pm at the Georgia National Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Smithwick Saxon, 3 children Mitch Saxon, Fonda (Eric) Froistad and Cindy Saxon;
4 grandchildren – Erin (Dr Kevin) Hatcher, Patricia Froistad, Dr. Mary Helen (Dr. Andrew) Camp and Jack Froistad;
7 Greatgrandchildren – Clay, Lucas, Bailey, Adeline, Emma, Dylan and Harper;
2 Brothers – Howell (Sheila) Lovell and Earle Lovell;
1 Sister in Law – Mildred Dobbins.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Julian Dobbins and Frank Saxon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to Canton First United Methodist Church or Empower Cherokee, Univeter Rd, Canton – or to the church or charity of your choice.
