Kevin Shawn Newman, age 40 of Acworth, passed away on Saturday, August 12th at his residence. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home on Saturday, August 19th at 11:00a.m. with Jason Bryant officiating with music accompaniment by Swift Andre and Harry Wolle. The family will meet with friends at Darby Funeral Home after the service. He is survived by:

....Kevin's boys, Aiden & Uriah, brought out the best in him, movies, xbox and practical jokes were their favorite pastimes. Aiden says, "No-one makes a better bacon, egg and cheese biscuit than Daddy." Kevin was a devoted Miami sports fan ... Hurricanes, Dolphins, Heat - he supported them full-heartedly no matter their record. Kevin made friends from all walks of life and all agree on one thing - Kevin had a sense of humor and quick wit that was heads above the rest. His sole purpose in life was to have everyone in a room laughing, his presence filled a room literally and figuratively. That purpose carried over into his career of serving others, EMS, Firefighter to most recently, an emergency room nurse at Cartersville Medical Center. Though many knew Kevin and were touched by his spirit, it was his late Daughter Reagan whom forever held his heart and his Mother Patricia Cooke who fully supported him through it all.
