Mrs. Lessie Fair Epps of Canton, GA; passed away on Monday, June, 17, 2019 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family. Funeral services (viewing at 10:00am and memorial service at 11:am) to be held at New Covenant Bible Church on Saturday June 22, 2019 at 1095 Scott Road, Canton, GA
Lessie was born on April 24, 1947 in Robertville, SC to the late Marion Fair Sr. and Alene Fair. She attended Robertville Elementary and Jasper High Schools. After graduating from high school, Lessie moved to New York City. Lessie later moved to Newark, NJ where she was gainfully employed as computer operator and later a technician at Sea-Land Corporation of Port Elizabeth, NJ for over 20 years. She went to a new job with Hapag-Lloyd that later transferred to Tampa Fla. Lessie retired in 2015. In 2017, Lessie acted on a dream that she and her late husband William Epps Sr long last had of living in a Atlanta area community when she purchased a home and move to Canton, GA.
Lessie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Lessie later became a member of St. Johns Baptist Church of Scotch Plains, NJ where she served in the floral ministry under pastorship of Rev, Dr. Kelmo C. Porter, Jr.
Lessie's beautiful, kind, and generous life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Reginald Brown of Staten Island, NJ and Peggy Brown of Canton, GA; her stepchildren: William Epps, Jr. (Betsy)of Ewing, NJ and Jermaine Epps of Monmouth Junction, NJ; her mother, Mrs. Alene Fair of Robertville, SC; her brother Marion Fair, Jr. (Edna) of Willingboro, NJ and; her sister, Mary Alice Young of Robertville, SC; her grandchildren: Kia Young of Jacksonville, FL, Keshawn Brown of Canton, GA and Reginald Brown Jr.; her step grandchildren: William, III, Jermaine, Jordan, Jason, Tia, and Nichet Epps; her brothers in-law: Roy Epps of New Brunswick, NJ, and Bernard Epps(Hazel) of Rock Hill, SC; her sister in-law, Mary Brown NJ; her only surviving aunt, Martha Dobson of Hampton, SC and her many cousins, other relatives and friends. Lessie was preceded in death by her loving husband William Epps, Sr.; her father, Marion Fair, Sr.; and her brother, Raymond Fair.
