Mary Jane Whitmire, age 88 of Canton passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at The Golden Living Center in Atlanta. Ms. Whitmire worked for the Bank of Canton from 1942-1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton. A Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Dr. George Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Cherokee Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 2PM-4PM and from 6PM-8PM at Darby Funeral Home. Survivors are Brother, Jack Whitmire of Canton; Nephews, David (Michelle) Whitmire of Canton; Tim Whitmire of Canton; Niece, Mitzi Campbell of Athens; Great Nephew, Michael(Heather) Whitmire of Canton; Great Niece Beth(Brady) Cornelison of Ball Ground; Great Niece, Whitney(Patrick) Hand of Atlanta; Great Nephew, Colin(Jessica) Campbell of Baltimore, MD. The Caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Canton.
