Pasquale (Pat) James Dilettoso of Canton, GA passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday January 27, 2015 at the age of 93. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00AM Saturday January 31, 2015 in the chapel at Transfiguration Catholic Church, located at 1815 Blackwell Road, Marietta, GA 30066. Father Fernando Molina-Restrepo will officiate.
Pat was one of the few surviving veterans of World War II, serving in the US Navy as an Aviation Metal Smith First Class in the Philippines. He raised his family with his first wife Effie in Elkins, WV. He was a draftsman for Labcraft for many years, retiring to Florida in 1989. After his first wife of 52 years passed away in 1993, he met Marjorie Bennett. The two were married in 1996 at the young age of 74 and would have celebrated 19 wonderful years together on February 3rd.
Mr. Dilettoso is survived by his wife, Marjorie Bennett of Canton, GA; son, Daniel Dilettoso of Elkins, WV; daughter, Patricia Dilettoso of Ashland, VA; step sons Michael Bennett of Salem, OR, Mark Bennett of Carrolton, TX, and Craig Bennett of Woodstock, GA. He is also survived by three sisters: Carmella from Long Meadows, MA; Rose from Winter Garden, FL; and Virginia from Winchester, VA. He has 5 grandchildren; Brian Jones, Jennifer Jones, Stephen Dilettoso, Samantha Bennett and Andrew Bennett; 11 great grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Effie Diletosso, his brother, James Diletosso and stepson, Larry Bennett.
