Miss Peggy Rose Thomas Age 68 of Canton, GA . died Saturday August 27, 2011 at Heritage Hopcise in Marietta. A longtime employee of the advertising department of the Wall Street Journal , Ms Thomas served as the Administrative Assistant to the Southeastern Regional Manager. Peggy started working for the Journal in 1962 and retired in May 2008. In her 46 years of service she assisted nine regional managers. "Every family needs an Aunt Peggy" is the sentiment of her family. Although Peggy had no children, she took a very active role in the lives of her nieces and nephews and loved tham as her own children and grandchildren. Peggy was a member of the MT. Zion Baptist Church in Hickory Flat for 56 years. Peggy is predeceased by her Mother Bessie Thomas and her Father Bentley Thomas Survivors are Sisters and brothers –in-law , Pat & Johnny Barber, Canton, GA , Penny & David Field, Ball Ground, GA and Carol & Lynn Braswell, Canton, GA . Brother and Siter-in-law , David & Kathy Thomas, Bon Aire, GA . Also survived by Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, 2 Great Great Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a host of friends . Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday August 29, 2011 from the Darby Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Doug Mulkey of Mount Zion Baptist Church will officiate with interment in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery .
