Richard Brodeur Carron, 88, of Sandy Springs, GA, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, November 8, 2024. Born on February 9, 1936, in Biloxi, MS, he was the beloved son of Cecilia Marie Saxon and Fred Paul Carron.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday November 27th at 10:00AM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Sandy Springs, GA.
A service to honor Richard's life will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Georgia National Cemetery, where he will receive the military honors he so deserved.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Anna Hutchinson Carron of Natchez, MS, with whom he built a life centered on faith, family, and love. He leaves behind his cherished children: Richard (Colleen) Carron of Maple Grove, MN; Virginia (Brent) Carron-Eiland of Atlanta, GA; Anna (Keith) Rodenberg of Nashville, TN; and Carole Patrick of Tennessee. He is also survived by his brother, Michael (Susan) Carron of Williamsburg, VA, nine treasured grandchildren—Haydn Lancaster, Carron Patrick, Austin Rodenberg, Cole Rodenberg, Joshua Eiland, Anna Eiland, Leah Eiland, Brodie Carron, and Ceci Carron—and three great-grandchildren: Aria Lancaster, Avery Lancaster, and Victoria Rodenberg.
Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Garner.
A proud graduate of Mississippi State University, class of 1961, Richard served as President of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, fostering lifelong friendships and leadership skills. From 1956 to 1962, he served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy.
Above all, Richard was a joyful servant of the Lord and a pillar of his faith community. As a leader at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, he touched countless lives with his unwavering devotion, wisdom, and grace. His kind spirit, deep love for his family, and commitment to service will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
Richard's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived in faith, love, and service.
