Ms. Richie Dean Duckworth, age 81, passed away on January 13, 2018. She was raised on her family's farm in Warren Co. GA, attended Warren County Schools, received a degree in Physical Education from Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA and lived in the Atlanta area during her 35 year career as a science and PE teacher in Cobb County Schools. She also worked part-time in Rich's Lenox Square book department for many years. Richie was preceded in death by her parents, W.R. and Mariana Duckworth, Norwood, GA, and sister Peggy (Eric) Tiller of Dunwoody, GA. She is survived by her sister; Sue (Garry) Simons,Norwood, GA, brother; Gregg (Bonnie) Duckworth, Acworth, GA and their families. A Celebration of Life in Richie's honor was held mid-December at the assisted living home where she lived in Canton, GA. Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society or the Human Rights Campaign.
