Matcovich, Rocio Echeverri
Devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, Rocio Echeverri Matcovich, who so generously and completely gave to others love, compassion, and concern, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in Canton, GA.
Rocio is survived by her husband of 10 years, Jack Matcovich, her daughters Mary Elizabeth Payne (Jimmy) and Patricia Elena Linfors (Patrick), and son William Gillies Broadfoot IV, her grandchildren Christopher Nils Linfors, Elizabeth Ann Payne, Jason Robert Linfors, Amanda Patricia Payne, and Jack's children Carol Held (Bruce), David Matcovich (Vicky), and Cathy Kimber (Mark), grandchildren Heather Bailey (Creighton), Danielle Smith (Johnny), Matt Summers (Stefanie), Taylor Kimber, and his great-grandchildren Peyton Summers, Grady Smith, Creighton Bailey, and Reagan Summers. Rocio is also survived by her former husband, William Gillies Broadfoot III.
Born in Pereira, Colombia, Rocio and her seven brothers and sisters were raised in Cali. She is preceded in death by her parents, Julio Martin Echeverri and Isaura Elena Echeverri, and her siblings, Irma Zuniga, Rodrigo Echeverri, Guillermo Echeverri, Julio Echeverri, and Javier Echeverri. She is survived by her sisters Estella Tolosa and Elsie Echeverri de Gonzalez (Javier), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved and adored.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., at Darby Funeral Home, 480 East Main Street, Canton, GA 30114. The family welcomes your attendance in person. The service will also be live-streamed at the link below.
