STEPHANIE HOWARD LANEY (NE: HEARD)beloved wife(widowed), mother, grandmother and sister passed into eternal peace on October 23, 2012. She attended Sacred Heart School and Emory University where she was a member of the Anchora Society (later Chi Omega sorority). Stephanie and her husband of 50 years, Robert, owned Laney International Travel which provided many thousands of travelers with arrangements for beautiful trips all over the world, especially Scandinavia.
She and Bob loved their children and grandchildren unconditionally and when their daughter Lynn died at the age of 37, they assumed guardianship of their grandson, Geoffry.
Stephanie is survived by Geoffry two sons, Michael Laney(of Elijay, Georgia) and his five daughters and Russell Laney(of Snellville, Georgia) and his wife and two sons.
Stephanie is also survived by her sister, Tanya Geller (of Boston, Massachusetts) .
She will be immeasurably missed by those who loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held at Darby Funeral Home at 10AM on Saturday, October 26.2012. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
