Mrs. Thary Helen Matheny, age 83 of Ball Ground, Georgia passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Kennestone Hospital.

Thary as born on August 11, 1937 in Waleska, Georgia to Mr. Judge White and Mrs. Thelma (Cagle) White. She was married for over 51 years to James Matheny. She worked as a hair dresser for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Daryl Matheny, brothers, Billy and Lawrence (Rabbit) White.

Mrs. Matheny is survived by her loving husband, James Matheny, son, Lewis Spivey of Florida, son, Donny Matheny of Cartersville, Georgia, brother, Griffin (Maxine) White of Dallas, Georgia, sister-in-laws, Mary White of Dallas, Georgia and Phyllis White of Marble Hill, Georgia, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Thursday, December 17th, from 5pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on December 18th at 12 noon with Rev. Billy Edmondson officiating. A private burial will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
