Weldon Curtis of Resaca, GA passed away at his home on Thursday, June 29, 2023. He had just celebrated his 84th birthday on June 14, with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Weldon was born and raised in Cherokee County to the late Ode and Dora Curtis. He often shared childhood stories with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren about what it was like to live during the good ole days and growing up on his family's farm in the Macedonia Community. During his life, Weldon was a chicken farmer, and he loved raising cattle, gardening, carpentry, and quail hunting. More than anything, he loved his family and friends.

Weldon is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bagwell Curtis; Daughter, Cheylena Curtis; Son, Jeffrey Curtis; brothers, Elmer and Major Curtis.

He is survived by his children, Lamar and Janice Curtis, James and Sissy Curtis, and Thomas Curtis; grandchildren, Amanda and James Hudgins and Adam Curtis; great-grandchildren, Mason, Caitlyn, and Madilyn Hudgins; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Tommy Hansard; sister, Hazel Stokes; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Opal Curtis, Dorothy Anglin, Johnny and Laverne Bagwell, and Mark and Linda Bagwell along with several other loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, and Sunday, July 2, 2023, until the funeral hour.

The funeral will be Sunday, July 2, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Rev. Kent Samples officiating. Interment will follow at Arbor Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Canton, GA.
