Alfred Louis Huard

Alfred Louis Huard, 81, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026 surrounded by his immediate family. Born on September 20, 1944, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Alfred was the beloved son of the late Lillian Groleau and Louis E. Huard. Alfred was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by love, loyalty, and quiet strength. He shared 58 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Loretta Irene Huard, building a family rooted in faith, hard work, and deep affection. To Alfred, family was everything, and his greatest joy came from time spent with those he loved most. A proud United States Navy Seabee Veteran, Alfred served his country with honor for two voluntary tours during 1965-1967 in Da Nang & Chu Lai, Vietnam. He later carried that same sense of duty and integrity throughout his life. He was known as an amazing husband and a steadfast father, always present, always supportive. Alfred found peace and purpose in simple pleasures. He loved boating on Suncook Lake, working in his wood shop, crafting with care, and took great joy in golfing with friends, cherishing both the game and the camaraderie. Above all else, he adored his grandchildren, who were the light of his life and the source of endless pride and happiness. He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Irene Huard of Canton, Georgia; his sons, Alexander Huard (Nolyn) of Deerfield, New Hampshire and Benjamin Huard (Nikki) of Alpharetta, Georgia; his brothers Dennis Huard (Linda) and Roger Huard; his sisters Priscilla Huppe (George), Pauline Bishop (Frederick III), Lucille Loiselle (George), Caroline Lacerte (Lionel), Catherine Poirier (Dennis), and Jacqueline Demers (Robert); and his five treasured grandchildren, Aidan Paul Huard, Logan Wayne Huard, Owen Timothy Huard, Avery Catherine Huard, and Paige Olivia Huard. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Huard and Donald Huard. Services with military honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Georgia National Cemetery, where Alfred will be laid to rest with the dignity and gratitude he so deeply deserves. Alfred will be remembered for his unending generosity, hard work, big laugh, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the values he passed down, and the love that will forever surround his name. Loretta will be hosting family and out-of-town guests for a luncheon at 11:30am following the service at The Fairfield Inn & Suites function room. 120 Reinhardt College Parkway Canton, GA 30114.
