Brenda Segall passed away on Sunday June 13, 2021, five weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
A memorial service will be held 3:00PM Saturday July 24, 2021 At the Bluffs, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton, GA 30114. Minister Don McLaughlin and Minister Ken Snell will officiate.
Her working life was mostly as a teacher. Brenda retired in 2009 from Cherokee High School after a tremendous career, most of which was in Cherokee County at Cherokee and Etowah High Schools and Canton Elementary. She spent most summers teaching swimming lessons as well as training lifeguards and water safety instructors. She held many Red Cross certifications and during her teaching time she helped arrange successful Red Cross blood drives and relief efforts after natural disasters. Her favorite teaching effort was "outdoor education." Through this class, using high and low challenges, plus activities such as canoeing, rock climbing, hiking, and camping she helped her students understand accepting challenges and dealing with them as a team member and an individual. She also was active with the high adventure program of the Boy Scouts of America. Her church affiliation was with North Atlanta Church of Christ.
