Bruce William Digby's Obituary

Bruce William Digby, 74, of Canton, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025. Bruce was born on September 5th, 1950, to Bill and Louise Digby of Akron, Ohio. He spent his childhood years in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He graduated with honors earning a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Akron, where he was a member of the Lone Star Fraternity. This part of his life always brought a smile to his face as he reminisced times he spent with this group of men. Also, during undergrad is where Bruce met the love of and partner for his life, Chris Digby. The couple started dating in January of 1973, where their love and dedicated support for one another started. Bruce then went onto Law School at the University of Akron, graduating in 1976, and soon passed the Ohio Bar thereafter. Bruce showed persistence and determination by working multiple jobs to pay for his schooling. After school, Chris and Bruce were married on June 15th, 1974, and started their family in Ohio. In 1985, his work took their family to Mobile, Alabama, where they expanded their family, while he earned his MBA at the University of South Alabama. Bruce then moved his family to Atlanta, GA where he eventually retired after a successful career with CP Kelco.

Bruce was an avid reader and tennis player. His love of tennis was the one thing that could get him up and out the door by 7:30 in the morning! As a sports enthusiast, he followed UGA football, the Atlanta Braves, and every golf and tennis tournament he could find. His travels spanned the globe-for both business and pleasure. He was involved with CP Kelco in Paris, France where he worked as an expat for 3 years, which afforded his family time to spend on international travels. Bruce genuinely enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Most of all Bruce showered his family with a constant, unending love. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and 'Pots'. Bruce was our calm and steady, thoughtful and supportive hero, and we will hold dear the wonderful memories he has given us to treasure.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Christine Wheeler Digby; daughter Brooke Wallingford (Sean Wallingford); son Drew Digby (Sarah Digby); beloved grandchildren James Wallingford, and Charlie, Erin, and Reist Digby. Bruce is also survived by his loving sister Connie Hriczik; sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Ed Schulz; and several nieces and nephews.

His Christian values, kindness, and gentle spirit will be missed by all, and will be remembered always.
Bruce's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27th, 1:00 PM, at Canton First Methodist Church. Following the service, we will continue to celebrate Bruce during a reception in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
