David Lee Wesley was born on the 6th of October 1948 in Atlanta, GA to Andrew Jackson and Mary Frances Wesley. He enlisted in the US Army on the 5th of September 1968 and served for well over 20 years. A man with may hobbies, David loved to share with any and everyone. From his time with NASA which saw him working on the shuttle Enterprise, to his rebuilding of Corvettes and flying planes, David was never one to sit idle. Always on the move, David was even planning on backpacking across Europe despite being in his 70's.
David never meet a stranger and he was always willing to help people out. It will never be known if David realized just how much he changed the lives of those he encountered. A few years ago, David met a young man by the name of Tai who he would befriend; giving a tour of planes and private flight lessons to. This random act of kindness had a lasting impact on this young man in that it inspired him to want to be a Junior Pilot while leading him to write a school essay on David as someone who inspired him. He now wishes to join the US Air Force.
From flying to Corvettes to model railroading, David's love of sharing will most certainly be missed by all those he befriended.
David was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Jackson, and his mother, Mary Frances. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon, and two sons, Jason and Scott, two brothers, Chaffin and Andrew, and a sister, Arra, seven grandchildren, Mitchell, Shelbi, Hailey, Ty, Sam, Zack, and Alessandra, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews
