Dorothy Valentine Garrigus, 78, of Canton, Georgia, was called home by God on June 8th, 2014. She was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on March 24th, 1936 to her loving parents Irving and Phyllis Valentine. Dorothy grew up with the loving support of her siblings Jim Valentine, Bill Valentine, John Valentine, Irving Valentine, and Barbara Wood-Murphy. She was a proud Hurricane Honey at the University of Miami and was faithfully married to the late Carl Garrigus. She was a strong Christian woman who loved to visit with her family and friends and to hike the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. She was the best mom anyone could hope for. Dorothy is survived by daughter Linda Chapnick and her husband David of Boca Raton, FL; daughter Patti Garrigus of Canton, GA; daughter Susan Guglielmo of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; son Carl Garrigus and his wife Melissa of Alpharetta, GA; and daughter Pamela loPiccolo and her husband Dennis of Woodstock, GA. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom are better people for having known her.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday June 15th at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia. Funeral services begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park immediately following the service.
