Ernest Larry Keyt, age 78 of Ball Ground, GA passed away Monday October 6, 2014 at Northside Hospital- Cherokee. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00PM Thursday October 9, 2014 from the Darby Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Billy Edmondson will officiate. The Keyt Family will be receiving friends from 5:00PM until 9:00PM Tuesday, 12:00PM until 9:00PM Wednesday and 9:00AM until the funeral hour Thursday. Interment will follow in the Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Keyt was a member of Sutalee Baptist Church, a 32 year employee of the Kroger Company. He played the steel guitar for the Hawk Shaw Hawkins and Cowboy Copas which opened for Country Musics' Patsy Cline at the Grand Ole Opry and was an 2011 Inductee of the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. He is survived by his son; Jimmy Dale (Brandy) Keyt, Canton, GA, daughters; Sherry (Stanley) Pinion, Dallas, GA, Teresa Jacobs, Cartersville, GA, 7 grandchildren; Lonnie and Dean Hawkins, Dale Jr. and Mason Keyt, Carmon Pinion, Natalie Watts, Leslie Jacobs, great grandchildren; Hunter Jack Hawkins, Bailey Brannon, Jonah Watts and his cat, Smokey. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements.
