Mr. Gary L. Jackson, age 74 of Canton, passed away on January 11, 2020.

Gary was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 9, 1945 to Herbert and Gertrude George Jackson, who are deceased, along with his sister Carole Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Dinah Jackson, brothers Herbert III and Kirk, son Jeffry and daughters Melissa and Amy. He had five grandchildren: Chase, Carson and Mary Chandler Robinett, Victoria Gonzalez and Evan Jackson.
Gary graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 1967 and was drafted into the Army in 1968. He served one year in Vietnam. After military service, he was employed by General Motors, Reynolds Aluminum, Atlantic Steel and Alltel.
He and his wife have been members of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church for over 20 years, serving most of those years in the choir. He enjoyed playing the Tuba and was a member of the Cobb New Horizons band for over 10 years.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 10:00am at the Hickory Flat United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery at 1:30pm with military honors. Donations can be made to the Hickory Flat United Methodist Church Building Fund, at 4056 East Cherokee Drive, Canton, GA 30115.
