Gwendolyn Darnell Mingea, age 87 of Canton, passed away Sunday, March 09, 2014 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 13 from Darby Funeral Home Chapel at 12 Noon with Rev. Jim McRae officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery in Rome, GA. at 2PM. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 AM-12 Noon at Darby Funeral Home. Survivors are Daughter & Son-in-Law, Nancy (Alexander) Wilson of Canton; Grandchildren, Michelle Christy of Panama City Beach, FL, Connie & Mark Rosemeyer of Canton, Linda & Kris Northup of Locust Grove, Daniel & Casey Mingea III of Covington, LA; Great Grandchildren, James, Madeline, Bella, Jax and Sarah; Sister & Brother-in-Law, Jacquelyn & Bubba Washington of Cumming, GA, several Cousins, Nieces and Nephews also survive. Ms. Mingea was preceded in death by her, Husband Daniel W. Mingea and Son, Daniel W. Mingea Jr., Sister & Brother-in-Law, Kathryn Darnell (Bobby) Lloyd and Brother, Joe Roger Darnell. Gwendolyn was born the Daughter of the late Herbert Miles Darnell & Inez Vick Darnell in Lindale, GA. She retired from the First National Bank in New Orleans, LA. and has resided in Canton since 2005. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
