Harry Eugene Thigpen, age 83 of Canton, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Outlaw officiating at 11AM. Interment will follow in the Ga. National Cemetery with full military honors at 1:30PM. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 1PM-8PM at Darby Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Thigpen of Canton; Sons, Joe (Lois) Thigpen of Dallas, Gary Thigpen of Tucker and Danny Thigpen of Dallas; Daughter, Brenda (Roger) Burns of Canton; Step-sons, Joel (Lyn) Cantrell of Flowery Branch and Warren (Michele) Cantrell of Jacksonville, FL; Brother, William Thigpen of Winder. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Orange United Methodist Church. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
