John Ivan Reece, age 78 of Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Grady Hospital. The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Thursday, September 19th from 6-9pm and Friday, September 20th from 9:30am to 1:30pm. The funeral will be on Friday, September 20th at 2pm in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Lusk officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Bailey, his father, Fred Reece, his step-dad, Bobby Bailey, his sister, Vivian Haley, his sister, Sharon Parris, his step-brother, Curtis Bailey. He is survived by:
Wife – Clara Reece of Jasper
Daughter – Dana (Wayne) Tippens of Jasper
Daughter – Tammy (Kenneth) Chester of Jasper
Sister – Brenda Romero of Smyrna
Sister – Freda Kaneko of New Caney, TX.
Grandchildren – Josh and Abby Tippens, Jennifer and Bo Waldroup, Kirsten Chester
Great-Grandchildren – Jackson Willingham, Lilli Tippens, Levi Tippens, Luke Tippens
A host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in law, and sisters-in-law also survive.
