In Loving Memory of Judith Abasta
April 6, 1942 – May 26, 2025
Judith Abasta, age 83, of Ball Ground, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025. Born on April 6, 1942, in Bisbee, Arizona, to Nelda Noemi Cosper Hobgood and William Casey Hobgood, Judith lived a life rich in love, resilience, and joy.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Judith's life centered around her family. Her heart beat for her children, and her nurturing spirit created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and strength. She found joy in the simple and enduring pleasures of life—She enjoyed pampering herself at the same beauty shop weekly for over 45 years, losing herself in the pages of love story novels, and dancing with a lightness that reflected her free and loving spirit.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Ralph Abasta, with whom she shared a lifelong bond of love and devotion. Together, they built a family grounded in values of faith, loyalty, and compassion.
Judith is survived by her loving children: Michael Abasta of Ball Ground, GA; Christi (Pablo) Martinez of Ball Ground, GA; Valerie Abasta, Lory (Sal) Rivera, and Christina (Belinda) Abasta - Cavazos, all of Tucson, AZ; and Feliz (Paul) Douglas of Pine Top, AZ. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Rudy) Corona of Tucson, AZ; seven cherished grandchildren—Manuel, Nathaniel, Kelsey, Salmartin, Kyle, Damon, and Curtis, Dacoda —and two great-grandchildren, Enzo and Zayden, 5 nephews and 3 nieces.
Judith's legacy is one of unwavering love, quiet strength, and enduring grace. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she held dear and in the stories shared around family tables for generations to come.
Services to honor Judith's life will be held at a later date.
