Judith Marie Kohlenberg
April 21 , 1945 – February 3, 2025
With love and cherished memories, we honor the life of Judith Marie Kohlenberg, who passed away on Monday February 3, 2025 at the age of 79. Born on April 21, 1945, in Milford, Delaware, to Grace Jones Hitchens and Norris Tilman Hitchens, Judith lived a life full of love, devotion, and adventure.
In 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, Commander C.M. Kohlenberg, and stood faithfully by his side throughout his 34-year military career in both the U.S. Air Force and the Navy. Together, they built a life filled with service, community involvement, and a love for travel. Judith embraced an active lifestyle, always engaged with her family, friends, and the organizations she held dear.
Above all, Judith loved her family. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Turman and her husband Danny of Canton, GA, and her son Charles Kohlenberg and his wife Ana Tavera of San Diego, CA. She was a beloved grandmother to eight grandchildren: Brad Kohlenberg, Brett Hill, Alex Kohlenberg, Joshua Kohlenberg, Brittney (Danny) MacDougall, Lauren (Russell) Davis, Olivia Turman, and Emma Turman. Her legacy also lives on in her seven great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her love and warmth in their hearts.
Judith is reunited in peace with her husband, C.M. Kohlenberg, who passed in 2019, and her beloved grandson, Daniel Joseph Turman.
At this time, no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who knew and loved Judith to celebrate her life in their own special way, holding onto the wonderful memories she created with all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Though she has departed this world, her spirit, love, and laughter will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
