In Loving Memory of Karen Schmitz
March 4, 1956 – January 2, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Karen Schmitz age 68 of Bradenton, FL who passed away on January 2, 2025. Karen was born on March 4, 1956, in Passaic, New Jersey, to her beloved parents, Marilyn J. Kievit Schmitz and Ramon Schmitz.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
Karen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. She found immense happiness in spending time with her cherished grandchildren, Elise and Nickolas, and shared a special bond with her cat, Jersey Girl. Whether dining with loved ones or relaxing by the pool, Karen embraced life's simple pleasures with gratitude and grace.
She is survived by her loving daughter Kristen Elwell (Joshua Pope) of Canton, GA; her son Kevin Mirabella of Canton, GA; and her treasured grandchildren Elise Elwell and Nickolas Elwell of Canton, GA; Karen also leaves behind her brother Raymond Schmitz (Wendy Schmitz) of Bradenton, FL and her nieces, Lauren Rudiger (William Rudiger) and Leanne Schmitz and her nephew, Ray Schmitz. Karen was the Great Aunt to CJ, Stevie, Ashton, Matthew & Jordan. Karen also leaves behind her dear cousins Freddie and Marie Powasnick of Nutley, NJ, along with their children, Little Freddie Powasnick (Basha Powasnick), Mary Maria (Michael Suto) and their children Xan & Matty of Nutley, NJ and her cousin, David Lee of Holland, MI.
Karen's legacy is one of love, laughter, and devotion to family. Her kind heart and vibrant spirit will forever be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
