Mariam Carr, 66, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her home on October 4th, 2025.
She spent her life working hard, giving selflessly, and leaving a lasting impact on everyone she
met.
Born on July 3rd, 1959, to Joseph and Shirley Carr, Mariam grew up surrounded by love and
family. She dedicated her life to caring for others and found her greatest joy in being a mother
to her children, Heather Collins and Douglas Plummer, whom she loved deeply and would do
anything for.
Mariam (Grandma Coke, YaYa) adored her grandchildren Eric (Jess), Kali, Briana, Isaiah, lyriic,
Jeremiah, David, and Kristopher and her great grandchildren Declan, Caden, and Elliana who
brought endless light into her life. She was often found laughing and playing with them,
creating memories filled with love and joy that will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley Carr; her son, Douglas Plummer; her daughter, Heather
Collins; her son in law, Randall Collins and her siblings, Joey, Shelly (Mike), Ronnie (Angie),
Jamie (Bryan). Mariam was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Carr, and her brother in
law, Brian Lewis.
Mariam had a gentle soul and a giving heart. She found peace in the simple things, the sound of
ocean waves, the freshness of the morning air, and the joy of cooking for her family and friends.
She touched countless lives with her kindness, compassion, and warmth.
Those who knew Mariam will remember her as the most beautiful butterfly to ever roam the
earth free-spirited, graceful, and full of light. Her presence brought comfort and love, and her
memory will forever flutter in the hearts of those she left behind.
A butterfly in life, an angel in heaven.
Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
