Nancy Virginia Keeny, age 80, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. She was born on September 12, 1945, in Waycross, Georgia, to Virginia Campbell and Lloyd Hill.
Nancy's life was guided by love — especially the love she had for her family. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with those she cherished most. A gentle spirit with a nurturing heart, she found delight in gardening, tending to her flowers and plants, and sharing beauty through her thoughtful flower arrangements.
Her compassion extended far beyond her garden. Nancy devoted her time to volunteering with the Cherokee County Humane Society, where she fostered numerous cats and dogs, giving each one a safe and loving home. She held a special place in her heart for her own beloved pets: her four cats, Bentley, Peaches, Gracie, and Katy, and her two faithful dogs, Smokey and Bandit.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Phillip Keeny of Canton, Georgia; her son Derek E. Keeny (Beth) of Elgin, Illinois; her daughter Alison Virginia Keeny of Atlanta, Georgia; and her four treasured grandchildren — Erin, Emma, Abby, and Anna Keeny — all of whom brought great pride and joy into her life.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Nancy will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to family, her gentle humor, and her unfailing generosity toward all creatures great and small. Her legacy of love lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
