Oredith Peek Evans, age 87, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Green Park.
Oredith was born on May 1, 1938, in Canton, Georgia, to Cliff Morgan Peek and James Alton Peek. In June of 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, O'Neal Evans—a love that began even before their high school years.
Oredith's life was deeply centered around her family and her church, both of which she cherished wholeheartedly. Her warm spirit and devotion touched the lives of many, and her legacy of love and faith will live on in all who knew her.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, July 3rd from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Darby Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 5th at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with visitation from 12:00PM until the funeral hour with Rev. Jonathan Kirby, Rev. Doug Carnes, and Rev. Pete Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
Oredith is survived by her two sons, Mitch Evans of Marietta, GA, and Michael (Earline) Evans of Greensboro, SC; and her cherished grandchildren: Catherine Evans, Thomas Evans, Caroline Evans, and Emily Schmidt.
