Roy Walter McCarthy, age 83 of Canton, GA passed away Saturday January 24, 2015. Visiting hours are from 2:00PM- 4:00PM Wednesday January 28, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled for 4:00PM Wednesday January 28, 2015 from the Chapel at Darby Funeral Home with Interment to be held at Georgia National Cemetery with full Military Honors at a later date. Reverend Lori Osbourne will officiate. He loved Tennis, Golf and Dance, he was a life member of American Legion Post #737 of Lake Milton, OH, The Elks Lodge of Spring Hill, FL and the Masonic lodge in Corry, PA. He is survived by the Love of his life of 60 years, wife; Betty McCarthy, Canton, GA, sons; Mark (Ann) McCarthy, Buford, GA, Karl (Renee) McCarthy, Sharpsburg, GA, daughter; Cheryl (Morgan) Lipscomb- McAdams, Canton, GA, 7 grandchildren; Lori King, Shannon Greene, Kristin Rhodes, Leigh Ann Linn, Amy Ward, Jennifer Scheller, Brianna McCarthy, 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers; Donald McCarthy and Roger McCarthy.
