Ruth Walker Cloer, 75 of Canton, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, April 27, 2023. She placed her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was confident of her eternal resting place in heaven.
Visitation will be Friday, April 28th from 6-8pm at Darby Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 29th at 11am in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia with Mr. Robert Barber officiating. Interment will be Monday, May 1st at 2:30pm at the Georgia National Cemetery.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Odean Walker, brothers, Luther and Lester Walker, Jr., her sister, Irene Hillhouse and her brothers-in-law Gary Hillhouse and J.I. Reece.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Charles Kendall Cloer, their daughters Wanda (DeWyatt) Tidwell and Connie (Jim) Swanson, sisters Clara Reece and Betty (Robert) Barber and brothers Lawrence (Anne) and Leonard Walker. Ruth was especially proud of her six grandchildren: Kevin, Kelley and Kyle Tidwell, Darla (Bruno) Lopez and Braxton and Ty Swanson.
Ruth was a Lockheed Martin retiree with more than 24 years of service fabricating various parts for the C5 and F-22 aircraft. She was a master seamstress and spent countless hours in her shop sewing quilts and making clothes for her family and friends. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed working on puzzles, taking weekend trips to the Smoky Mountains and always looked forward to the annual family beach vacation at Gulf Shores. Above all, she cherished time spent with family.
Ruth was a devoted wife, beloved sister, a selfless mother and the best "Nana" in the world. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
