It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Young, 56, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Scott passed away Monday March 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Scott was a proud Marine Veteran who carried the values of loyalty, courage, and honor throughout his life. He survived six combat tours and earned three purple hearts and one bronze star with valor as well as many other medals and honors. Scott was known for his devotion to his family and his unwavering commitment to those he loved. As a father, he was nurturing and protective, always ensuring that his children were safe and supported. As a husband, he was loving, devoted, and fiercely protective of his wife, Terri Young, with whom he shared a beautiful life full of memories. Scott had a remarkable ability to make others laugh, often playing the role of the practical jokester. His infectious humor and his gift for making people smile will be deeply missed. He had a big heart, always ready to help others in need, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He never met a stranger, and his kindness extended to everyone he encountered. Scott’s family was everything to him. He is survived by his loving wife, Terri Young, and their five children: Mason Rohrbaugh, Megan Rohrbaugh, Aubrey Rohrbaugh, Ansley Rohrbaugh, Travis Young (Wife Celeste young) as well as his precious grandson, Clayton Young. He is also survived by his biological mother and stepfather, Patricia Crux and Michael Crux; his biological father and stepmother, Danny Higgins and Betty Higgins; and his three half-siblings, Kenny and wife Jen Higgins, Ila and husband Scott Hewitt, and Shellie Higgins. Scott was also deeply loved by his nieces and nephews: Joann and Shawn Higgins, Kiara and Victoria Higgins, Jayden and Kylie Wright, Kasey Dahl, Caylem and Avery Richardson, and his great-nephews, Waylon, Brantley and Tanner. His in-laws, Tommy and Carol Dahl, and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Kim and Jason Wright, Andrea and Steve Richardson, will always remember Scott’s warm presence and the love he gave to everyone around him. In addition, Scott leaves behind his beloved Aunt and Uncle, Myrna and Morrie Morrison, as well as a multitude of cousins and extended family who cherished him dearly. Scott's life was one of love, laughter, and selflessness. His big, open heart and his readiness to help others will be sorely missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Scott’s legacy is a testament to the power of family, the importance of laughter, and the boundless nature of love. Rest in peace, Scott. You will forever be loved, never forgotten, and always in our hearts. Funeral Services in honor and celebration of Scott's life will be held at 12:30pm on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Darby Funeral Home. Following the service, a procession will depart the funeral home at 1:30pm in route to Georgia National Cemetery where Scott will be laid to rest with Honors for his service to our country. Rev.
